ROLLERCOASTER CORPORATION OF TEXAS November 8, 1990 Re: Project No. 6A01 Mr. Keith Sanders Opryland USA 2802 Opryland Drive Nashville, TN 37214 Dear Keith: Enclosed are revised plan and profile sheets P-1 and P-3, showing the proposed changes to the layout in order to respond to increasing the height of the highest continuous bent and for the revised tunnel layout. Latest information we have on Cedar Points' new wooden roller coaster, "Mean Streak" which is under construction: From ACE publication: lift height 160' drop 160' track length 5,427' 28 passenger trains (PTC) From John Pierce sources: lift height 166' drop 158' track length 5,178' Basically, following are changes we are proposing for our layout: 1. Shift lift structure forward over the cliff approximately 64-70 feet, in order to increase height of highest single bent from 150' to 174' high. Overall structure height above quarry floor elevation 980 to remain at 176 feet high and first drop to remain 169 feet high. This design will cause encroachment of the highest bent adjacent to cliff into the minimum distance established by Park engineers. This will need to be addressed. Mr. Keith Sanders Page 2 Other effects of this shift: Low point of drop will be closer to the cliff wall. Steeper incline up the next cliff. 2. Revised tunnel layout is per previous re-design submitted directly by John Pierce. 3. Tunnel has tighter radius, and designer has elected to continue this same radius on around to the right as the track exits the tunnel, actually extending the running length of track approximately 80-90 feet, which will give a longer parallel "fly-by" at the station. Should you have any questions about these proposed changes, please contact us. Pending hearing anything to the contrary from you, we will proceed with development of this layout and profile.
